Recycling and CompostingNectar partners with PEL Recycling to recycle as much of our waste as possible. We compost all of our coffee grounds, used tea, egg shells and fruit/vegetable waste.We recycle all of our empties, as well as any mixed plastics, metals and paper. PackagingWe have worked long and hard to minimize our packaging and choose products that have the least impact both in their production and their disposal.We use natural cake boxes from Big River Packaging in Clinton, Iowa. They are made from unbleached material and use 20-35% less fiber than conventional bakery packaging. Additionally, the windows are made from biodegradable cellulose instead of plastic film. We minimize the use of shopping bags, preferring to tie our goodies up with raffia, but when our guests require a bag, we use unbleached bags made from 100% recycled material. Our gift packaging is chosen not only for its visual appeal, but also its manufacture, and most of our gift boxes, shred materials and gift wrap are also made from recycled or reusable materials.
